Hiking to the 462.5-meter-high Mt. Senganmori is a popular activity. Toilets offering wheelchair access are available. Located near to the mysteriously pyramid-shaped Senganmori mountain in Iino, a small town near Fukushima City in Fukushima Prefecture. At the top of the Senganmori mountain, you will find a well-constructed observation deck featuring a nice view of the town of Iino and Its Surrounds.

As you approach Iino Town on Route 114, notice the cone-shaped mountain that looks almost like a pyramid. This is Senganmori Mountian sitting to the north of the town. This symbolic mountain is representative of “Iino Town, Home of UFOs” and has many mysterious legends and anecdotes, such as UFO sightings, and also plays a vital role in the town’s revitalization.

The mountain trail is entered from Senganmori Park which is at the base of the mountain. There are three entrances to the mountain: one by the UFO Fureai Kan, which introduces the legend of UFOs with various materials related to aliens and a 3D theater, and the other near the parking lot.

The entrance to the mountain is from three different points. Visitors are immediately greeted by stone statues modeled after aliens. There are a total of nine stone statues of adorable aliens, including an octopus-like figure and a chameleon-like figure.

The shortest UFO trail to the top takes about 20 minutes. If you follow the trail that circles the mountain, you can also enjoy the colony of katakuris in spring. The trail ends at a stone pavement called the “Pinkara Stone Trail,” which is said to emit magnetic power.

At the top, there is an observatory. Its name is “UFO Contact Deck. Mr. Hisao Sato, the director of Youpo Shizen Club, a non-profit organization in the town that conducts environmental maintenance activities in Senganimori, introduces the view from the top, saying, “The view of Agatsuma and Adatara is wonderful. The view from the top is spectacular, with a 360-degree angle.
