Shioyazaki Lighthouse was first opend in 1890 as a beacon office and has safely quided ships for more than 100 years. Shioyazaki Lighthouse is open to the public and commands a spectacular view of the coastline. Shioyazaki Lighthouse was made famous by the movie, ‘Long Years of Happiness and Sadness’. It is located about 25km from the Iwaki Chuo Interchange (about 40 minutes by car).
Opening Hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm(Jul to Aug no entry after 3:30pm) 9:00am to 3:00pm(Sept to Jun no entry after 2:30pm)
Closed in bad weather (call beforehand)
