A multi level recreational and commercial park equipped with a bus terminal. In the glass “Spaceship Aqua” you can walk on air 14 meters above the ground, or enjoy lively events held virtually every week at the “Galaxy Platform.” There is also a wealth of restaurants and shops to explore, making this quite literal within the City a perfect place to lake a break.
This park opened in October 2002 at the northeast corner of Nishiki-dori and Hisaya-odori in Sakae. This is a compound type 3D park with a “Spaceship Aqua” theme that is a symbol of the park and abundant throughout. There is a “Field of Green” where flowers and trees are planted, and also a “Milky Way Plaza” (bottom floor) where many events take place. Inside, there are a variety of shops and a connecting bus terminal for public transportation.
The park has a large elevated structure constructed of glass and conversed with water which allows views through to a shopping area below. The roof is a large oval glass structure that floats above ground level. It is filled with water to create an interesting visual effect and to cool down the temperature of the shopping area below in the summer.
The bus station is directly under the park area. The bottom floor links the bus station with the subway (Higashiyama Line’s Sakae station) and contains over thirty shops and restaurants from Starbucks to the Pokémon Center.
Oasis 21 is centrally located, adjacent to Nagoya TV Tower in Sakae, Nagoya. Two convenient pedestrian bridges connect Oasis21 to the NHK Building and the Aichi Arts Center. Oasis21 is truly an Oasis in the center of Nagoya.
Hours: Spaceship Aqua and retail stones open from 10.00 to 21.00 restaurants and cafes from 10.00 to 22.00, and service shops from 10.00 to 20.00. (Business hours may vary.), Oasis 21 Tourist Information Center: 10:00 – 20:00 throughout the year.
Closed: New Year’s Day, semi-annual legally-designated inspection days (Shops only).
