The Nagoya International Center is a non-profit organization based in Nagoya, Japan. The NIC promotes multi-cultural harmony and provides free information and consultation services for foreign residents in 9 languages. Facilities include numerous conference, exhibition, lecture, and meeting rooms that are available for rent. Also provide Nagoya City civic service, such as a ward office, health center, welfare center, or the Nagoya City Tax Office

The Information Service Corner and the Library on the third floor are open to the public free of charge providing tourist and daily living information for foreign visitors. Information service for foreign residents on daily life and sightseeing in Japan available in 8 foreign languages. Japanese & English is available Tuesday to Sunday (09:00 – 19:00). The Center’s ever-popular program offers 7 types of classes ranging from conversation for beginners to kanji. Also offers accommodation and other services to foreign students in Aichi Prefecture.

Professional native English-speaking counselors are available weekdays (Tue – Fri) by appointment only to provide support to foreign residents who have difficulties with their lives in Japan. To arrange a counseling session call the NIC 3F Info Counter

Free Legal Consultations with a certified lawyer available on Saturdays 10:00 – 12:30 by reservation only. To make an appointment, please leave your name & phone number on the answering machine at 052-581- 6111. A counseling support staff member will call you back at a later date to schedule an appointment with you.

Information & advice in English for foreign residents on anything related to government administration such as labour laws, immigration, divorce, & taxation. Phone or visit Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 – 12:00 & 13:00 – 17:00 (except national holidays). The Information Counter can answer inquiries in several languages. Please feel free to make an inquiry in person or by telephone.

The Kobe-based Refugee Assistance Headquarters (RHQ) provides a confidential counseling service for refugees, convention refugees, their family members, and asylum seekers in English and Japanese on the 1st, 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month (10:00 – 16:00) at the NIC 3F Info Counter. The Nagoya International Center is a 7-minute walk or a 2-minute subway ride from Nagoya Station. Kokusai Center Station, on the Sakura-dori Subway Line, is linked to the Nagoya International Center at the basement level. The Nagoya International Center library and information counter are open 09:00 – 19:00 Closed on Mondays, December 29 – January 3, & the second Sundays of August & February. Car-parking is also available at the Center and in the immediate vicinity.
