Mikawaya Ryokan is an old ryokan or Japanese-style inn located in Kowakudani of Hakone. Guests can enjoy the beautiful seasonal scenery accented by the relaxing sounds of a river from the guest rooms and the lobby’s terrace. Horaien Garden is a 1-hactar garden which is situated across the Route 1 in Kowakudani. This garden is famous for azalea. Thirty thousand azalea bushes in the garden show beautiful flowers in early summer.
The Azalea Festival is held in May when azalea flowers are in full bloom. Stalls open in the garden on weekends during the festival. Savor the pleasures of the adjacent Hakone Kowakien Yunessun hot spring amusement park to your heart’s content. Popular museums, such as Hakone Open Air Museum, Hakone Museum of Art, Shasui Falls, Gora Park, Pola Museum of Art, Ashinoyu Onsen, Odawara Castle, Inoue Sake Brewery, Lalique Museum are located near Horaien Garden, too.
