Takeshima is famous for the Takeshima land. Ancient citizens believed that there is a goddess in the land. As people were afraid of the god, they had preserved the land for a long time. The beautiful ocean view and an aqua museum are magnets to tourists.
The aquarium is divided into 17 areas in which you can see rare saltwater, freshwater, and tropical fish from around the world. There are about 450 species of fish. Every day there are four shows involving California sea lions doing various entertainment tricks with balls and jumping. The Erika, the yacht that sailed around the world, is on display outside the aquarium.
The mascots of this aquarium are two Californian sea lions called Rak and Nana. Everyday there are 4 sea lion shows. The sea lions will do their best to entertain you. This Takeshima Aqua Museum is really small and old but surprisingly it has the largest number of fish in Japan. You can see swimming fish that you usually see in fish stores. It also has a sea seal. She is clever and charming.
