- Lending Books: Each person can lend up to 5 books each for 2 weeks.
- Copy Service : You can only copy the library’s materials. Each copy is 30 yen, and 1 person can only make 30 copies at a time.
- Collection Size: 360,000 books as of April 1999.
- Book Storage Capacity: 150,000 open shelf and 382,000 closed shelf.
- Audio Visual Equipment : 1,200 CD’s, 1,600 cassette tapes, 300 LD’s, 450 VHD’s.
- Car Parking: 45 max.
- Bicycle Parking: 80 max.
Nagano City Library Open Hours: Wednesday – Monday 10:00am – 6:00pm Holidays: Every Tuesday, the last day of the month (to clean the library), National Holidays, Year-end holiday (Dec 29th – Jan 3rd), during collection adjustment (once a year for 2 weeks, at the beginning of June) * If the last day of the month is a Tuesday, then the next day will be a holiday also. - Lending Books: Each person can lend up to 5 books each for 2 weeks.

- Bookmobile Service: They have mobile bookservices for every area of the city (3 Iizuna buses that have 3,000 books each).
- Lending area: 76 different places
- Lending time: 30 minutes – 1 hour
- Lending limit: Up to 5 books per person
- Lending term: 2 weeks
You can find the Bookmobile schedule in the Nagano City public information report that comes out on May 15th and November 15th.
- Branch offices: There are branch offices in every Public City Hall (22 total) that also have many books. Please visit the branch office nearest your house.
- Citizen’s Library: Because of public demand, they have opened up many citizens’ libraries in many places.
- Group Lending: They lend books to the South PTA mother and family library.
